Regarding the Empress

I've enjoyed reading your recent comments about The Empress's Tomb. (Though I'm sorry if some of you are finding it difficult to get your hands on a copy. It's still pretty new. Don't give up.) I realize there are far more copies of books like the Gossip Girls out there right now. That's because those books appeal to everyone in one way or another.

But I didn't write the Kiki Strike books for everyone. (I have no interest in ordinary people.) I wrote them for YOU. I believe that the right people will find my books eventually. And then we'll all take over the world.

Cause lip gloss is great, but lip gloss and lock-picking skills will get you a whole lot farther.

No offense to anyone, of course, but Gossip Girl is not my kind of stuff. I really loved the second book and read practically the whole thing during Thanksgiving weekend--A superbly awesome 2nd book and now I am excitedly waiting for the third XD!

Yeah! We can rule the world, and the Irregulars can rule the Shadow City!

The Gossip Girls used to be a guilty pleasure of mine. Until I realized they just made me feel poor and fat, which in their world equals useless.

Kiki and the Irregulars have skills and a keen interest in the world around them. Now that's something I can appreciate and, even at my age, aspire to ;).

see, all of us feel good about ourselves thanks to the irregulars. We don't need to worry about anything else. I'm sticking with my original belief and not touching gossip girl with a ten foot pole. we're all good the way we are. ( i may still use it as a cover-up!) just kidding:)

I totally agree. I was so lucky to snag the Empress's TOmb in a hardcover copy. (I love th Universit Book Store!) I like to read The Clique and still feel good about myself, but when I read Kiki Strike, I feel the best out of all the books I read. :-)

we shall rule the world, someday, and so true about the lipgloss (although after that song, I became a very dedicated lipstick gal-who cares about fish scales) and picking locks-priceless :)

FIFTY TWO CENTS.

I have fifteen dollars in Borders/Waldenbooks giftcards. I tried to order Empress on Amazon (since they thoughtfully let you use those types of giftcards) And the order came to $15.52. I'm fifty-two cents short. *head bang*

I.....

Have not read gossip girl!!!!!

But I, too, think it would be an enjoyable experience to take over the world!!!

So if you decide to, call me!

Though I have been, in some areas, classified as "completely insane" or "strange" or "bookworm", I may be useful!

Now all I have to do is wait approximately five business days.

GO KIKI STRIKE!
I find your books inspiring. Did you know that when I first found the Shadow City at the library, I thought, "Eh, sounds kinda boring, but I might as well borrow it," and then almost didn't read it? I am SO glad I did after all! And then I convinced Nellie to try it, and she was hooked too.
I also recommend the Swallows and Amazons books by Arthur Ransome.

I'm one of those people that still haven't gotten the book.
Anyways, lip gloss and a lock pick could get you far but uh,...hold the lip gloss...but then again, the most unexpected thing moments require some strange things that might just come in handy...

Today we had a fire in our kitchen! Just a little stove fire. My father accidentally turned the wrong burner on the stove on. It had a plastic plate on it instead of a pot and the plate began to BURN! So now we have smoke damage on our walls. :( (sorry, I know this is off- topic but it was just too exciting not to share!)

I know that most people don't like the "clique books" but I bet if Kiki read them she would find them useful like Revenge of the wannabes how they plot to get what they want in a way they are kinda like Kiki but use their skills to get what they want

I found a copy of the empress pretty easily, I just went to Barns&Nobles and asked those people for the book "The Empress's Tomb" and they found one for me. I usally go to those big bookstores and get one, they have like, everything. o^-^o And I LOVE your books!! *fan* When will the next book come out?? I can't wait!!

I really don't like the Gossip Girl books. why would anyone want to read books about girls being mean to each other just for a spot in the popular herd. it's much more enjoyable having real friends (like the Irregulars!) who care about you! (no offence to any Gossip Girl lovers...)

Are we Gossip Girl?
If by 'Gossip Girls, you mean under cover, you are right.
By the way! I got my copy the very first day it came out! (I love my B&N)

Agreed on the g-girl thing. I mean, really. Mindless fashion is like a ferrari without an engine.

exactly! I've been to the bookstore 5 times SPECIFICALLY for the Empress and have attempted to order it TWICE, yet... i still dont have a copy. Needless to say, i am very annoyed with the local Borders and intend to take my bibliophilic needs to a more productive source: Barnes and Nobles.

Lipgloss is actually very useful for your "extracurricular activities" Ananka. It's very useful in disguises, can even be used as a substitute for hairgel if you're really in a pinch, and you can always use it as a lubricant for extremely sqeaky hinges for those locks that you do intend to pick.
