I've Seen the Future: Poo-Powered Street Lights!
If you've got a dog, you've got poo. The question is: What should you do with it? There are many, many options available to you. (All of which I will leave to the imagination for now.) However, if you're ecologically-minded, you might try using it as fuel.
A dog park in Cambridge, MA, has recently installed a "methane digester," which takes unwanted pooch poo and uses it to power street lights, a tea cart, and a popcorn machine. (Not sure how I feel about that last one.)
Apparently it's a pretty easy process turning poo into power. (You can read more about it here.) Which makes me think . . .

That's an interesting idea--but hey, as long as it works!
It's like that poo powered car! XD It's a good idea and makes our streets less smelly I guess...?
You see the future a lot! :) With the 3D projection thing.
Dear Everyone:
Methane is methane. Although I can just see the slogan for my brother's domestic pack now -- canines for energy independence on doggie t-shirts. If only his designated speed dog (half saluki, by rights it ought to have more moving violations than I) would hold still long enough for people to read a doggie t-shirt....

OOPS -- it just occurred to me we're not all thinking the digesting device is piping the methane to a generator, and the generator is what's powering the popcorn maker. At least I hope that is what's going on.
On the other hand -- here's a dog park with a POPCORN POPPER! That's cool. I know a lot of dogs that enjoy their people's popcorn. Just as long as they don't have a "small breeds" carousel.
