I've Been Challenged . . .

For years, I've been hiding a secret fear. One so terrifying--so humiliating--that I've kept it from all but a carefully chosen few.

But now, the lovely, talented, and thoroughly evil Lauren Myracle has challenged me to face my fear this Halloween. And she wants proof.

So what IS my deepest, darkest fear? You'll have to wait and see! All will be revealed on October 31st.

For the record, it's not bird-eating spiders, sidewalk stingrays, blood-thirsty sharks, bad home decor, evil dolls, sausage filling, or the undead (whom I generally find quite personable).

Check out Lauren's challenge here. And feel free to share your greatest fears. (I promise I won't use them against you.)

Ooh, this is going to be good!
As for my greatest fear, it was mentioned in my comment on the bird eating spider. *shivers* I hate spiders. D:

GO GO GO!

I can't dive. I'm not exactly scared, but I always chicken out at the last minute. But I can't learn before Halloween because the pool is closed. Maybe I could conquer the part of that fear that keeps me from doing cartwheels. But that's not exactly a fear.
Maybe my fear of meeting new people? (But what if no one likes me?)

I am afraid of not being able to breathe.

***On a side question***
I will be visiting New York city in a little while. Any suggestions on places I have to go that might not be mentioned in the tourist books?

hmmm... judging by the picture's shoes, are you perhaps, afraid of elves? i'm going to try and conquer my fear of creepy dolls. I just don't like the way the look at me, so i guess i'll try to stare one down...

I must say... I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I really want to know your deepest fear... Sorry but its an extreme curiosity of mine to know what people are afraid of... It actually can tell you a lot about them!! My fear is dying. I'm not religious so.. I don't know what's waiting for me after death.

dangerous: get every scary doll that you own, (borrow some from your friends as well if you can) and then sleep with all of them in your bed. Maybe take a picture? Idk, in my opinion it's not proving it to anyone else that matters. The only thing that matters is proving to yourself that you were strong enough. WOW THAT WAS THE CORNIEST THING I'VE SAID ALL WEEK...

Hey! Meg Cabot just announced on her blog yesturday that she was doing that too! She's dressing up as a fairy. Apparently "They’re so small! And sexy!" and they scare her.
Are YOU afraid of fairies, Kirsten Miller?????

My fear is.....having a shooter at a school or work place where I am at. I think that would be terrifying. I also am kind of scared of spiders.

when I was 4 or 5, my family and i visited a bird sanctuary. We were feeding some ducks bread (i know, i know i know, bread kills the ducks and I've been guilty since...). Then, a flock of Canadian geese came! We ran out of BREAD so all of the birds started to honk and quack, until suddenly, this huge goose comes up to me, and bites my tooshy!!! of course I was 4/5 years old, so it was so dreadfully painful. Since then, I've been afraid of ducks, geese, swans, or any other birds with bills!!!

I know, totally wimpy right?

:O

I would fear to meet those authors-- I might melt into a puddle of fannishness and jealousy and look like an idiot and then have to take my sad unpublished self away quietly because i am not worthy.

Ok that was a stupid comment but it's the only thing I could think after I read that challenge.

Good luck Kirsten Miller!! Hehe... My fears are really stupid.. Like claustrophobia... Or do I have Cleisiophobia? [nvm ^^'] But I have an even more stupid fear than all of you... *shudders*

I heard there's this phobia about being scared of wolves wearing socks circling kitchen tables or something...

Do you know all those authors personaly? Cuz that would be really cool!
And I can't wait at all to see what you are scarded of. Perhaps swimming with sharks, you said you were afriad of that in the New Year Reselution... but you couldn't do that near NY in winter/fall... hmmmm

My greatest fear? Hights. I know it's wimpy, but I really can not stand hights. Once I was at a birthday party (when I was like 5, but still) and we were rock climbing those plastic walls they have in community centers, and I got so scared some emplyee had tot come and help me down!! I am deathly afraid of hights!

arsenic: Just remember Dumbledor! Dieing is the next great adventure!

My biggest fear is... falling. It isn't of heights, it is the FALLING from heights/from a handstand pose/off a diving board/etc. Freaks the holy heck out of me! :(

Ms Kirsten Miller, good luck and make sure it's a safe activity.

At school camp this year, there was absolutely NO way I was abseiling the huge mountain we had just climbed. But then I saw Random Irregular and friends down the mountain while I was all the way up the top so I abseiled down half crying and somehow I survived. After that, I've been up for many challenges, crazy ones.
Someone give me a challenge and I'll see if I can do it! hehe... (NO SPIDERS)

My greatest fears: outliving my loved ones. (as in all of them), Never being able to read, being stuck in middle school for the rest of my life, and needles. Oh,and Sarah Palin. Especially her anywhere near the oval office. REALLY REALLY REALLY SORRY if you happen to be a republican or "Sarah" supported. Just... she scares me. Anaka: these fears are somethings that I don't know to get over... how do you simulate being in middle school for the rest of your life?

Oh, I loved Lauren Myracles books!

My greatest fear: sour milk. Especially sour CHUNKY milk.

I was nine. I had forgotten that we had just been on a three-week vacation, and when we got through the door, I was thirsty and was glad to see a glass of milk waiting for me on the counter.

The neighbors could hear the screams. :(

Don't worry Rachel, I'm scared of heights too [not my most stupid fear btw]. I can't climb those rock wall things either, last time I was like "NOOO!!! I'M DYING!! LET ME DOWN!!! LET ME DOWN!!! ACK!! THE STRING MIGHT BREAK!!! HELP!! NOOO!!" and people stared to stare at me weird because I was only half a foot off the ground... -.-'

I'm not really scared of anything; heights, enclosed spaces, spiders, snakes, fairies, or anything else that I can think of at the moment. But, I can't wait to see what the authors are going to do for the dare.

Like, I get all freaked out and teary-eyed if for some reason I have to get into one. Lame right?

I know some one who is afraid of ducks.

Also, my greatest fear is getting tickled. Or pickled. I don't know which.

it's the fear of being chased by timber wolves around a dining table while wearing socks on a newly waxed floor. I forgot the scientific name too.....
