TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY CONTEST: Meet Your Judges!

I would be the first to admit that I have no skills when it comes to the visual arts. So when the time came to choose judges for the TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY contest, I gracefully declined to consider myself for the job. Instead, I rounded up a stellar group of tasteful individuals to review the entries and choose the FIVE FINALISTS. Not only will they be better suited to judge the artistic merits of your entries, they don't share my fond feelings for all of you, and they probably won't sniffle when they're forced to choose between you.

Your judges are . . .

Ms. Lithe S (yep that's her real name): Writer, sophisticate, art-appreciator, and resident of Paris.

Ms. Laura H: Artist, photographer, and all-around cool chick.

Mr. Ace Daly: Male model and world-class aesthete.

They will pick the finalists based on the following criteria: originality, skill, and accuracy (whether it fits Iris's description).

We've received well over 60 entries, and I think they're all fabulous. Good luck to all the contestants!

(Above: My favorite art critic, the wonderful and wacky Sister Wendy.)

Oh, and I almost forgot . . . this is my 500th POST!!!

HAPPY 500th! Heehee. 60 entries? That's more than the amount of kids in the cast and srew combined for the school play!

Good luck to everyone!

Are they real people? Or just figments of your imagination? xD I've always wondered this, because you have proven yourself on many occasions to create wacky and (very) realistic characters. They could be pseudonyms, though. ;)
Anyway, they all sound unique and capable. And the third judge has decided the winners of another contest here, hasn't he?

And congratulations on 500 posts, Kirsten!! Perhaps the only time we may celebrate something's 500th birthday, with them still living. ^^

Woo, 500!
That's about one entry every 1.46 days. Not bad!
Oh, wait, this year was a leap year...make that 1.462.
Yeah, this is the kind of thing I do in my spare time...
And speaking of spare time, do you have any suggestions of what I should do with this batch of [very, very, very toxic] hydrogen sulfide I accidentally created?? D: HELP!!!!

I think I'll do well in two out of the three catagories - in order to become a finalist, does your portrait have do do well in all of them?

Jin ai: you could use your h2s for the separation of deuterium oxide,ie heavy water from normal water. i cant think of any other things to do with it. Careful, though: h2s is highly toxic and flammable and deadens your sense of smell so quick that by the time you realise it too late.

500th. Wow. Pretty impressive, if I do say so myself. When do we get to vote? I seem to remember you saying something about that... *hint hint* Also, where do you find the judges? Are they friends of yours, or people you meet on the streets, or aliens from Proxima Centauri, or criminals released under mysterious circumstances, or...

Oh, and Kitty, I love the smiley. 'O' I have to use that more often...

How does one "accidently" create hydrogen sulfide?

Lara: Thanks! How would I do that/where can I look it up?
Yeah, I've read about H2S causing problems in soft water because it smells really bad, but I'm not sure how to do that.
I might ask a friend, who did a project on hard water... Thanks again!
Um, won't a lot of entries be marked for accuracy?
Wow, sixty entries. I'm surprised; there aren't that many regular commenters.

Raph: Oh they're very, very real I'm afraid.

Jin Ai: There are far more readers of the blog than there are commentors. I, myself, had never commented on a blog until I started this one!

Nellie: Sorry! The judges will be getting together at 7PM New York time. So you may not know til the morning.

Everyone: I will post the finalists this evening. Voting to determine the winner will begin on Wednesday! (And yes, you all get to vote.)
