Frozen Grand Central
Improv Everywhere is a New York-based group that's dedicated to causing "scenes of chaos and joy in public places." Since 2001, they've successfully executed more than 70 missions, including the annual "No Pants Subway Ride," during which hundreds of New Yorkers ride public transportation--without pants.
Their most recent mission was "Frozen Grand Central," which took place in Manhattan's fabled Grand Central Station. I'd tell you all about it, but it will be much more fun if you just watch the video below . . .
(And big thanks to SameAnonymous for reminding me about IE!)

That is FANTASTIC!! :P
That would be fun to do at school in the hallways.(Even if I was late for class!)
THAT'S HILARIOUS!!
It reminds me of this thing my Communications and Theater (like acting class, but at school) teacher told us last year, Invisible Theater. At the end, the people pulling the prank would shout, "invisible theater!"
Once, he said his friend (a teacher) walked into a classroom on the first day of school, and introduced himself to his students. Five minutes through the introduction, he turned and ran out the window...then another guy wearing the same clothes introduced himself the exact same way to the bewildered students, and when the first person came back in, they had an "argument," but then shouted, "INVISIBLE THEATER!"
Interesting way to introduce it to a class!
To Ananka: YAY!!!! Haha. I'm very proud of myself, even though you had to give me about 15 hints along the way, lol.
By the way, I went to King street the other day, but I couldn't tell which were the hidden houses. Then again, I was in a car and there wasn't any time to get out and look around, so I'll go there again sometime.
OMG! We should totally do that. How about...at 9:00 tommorrow night everyone here just stops moving, and see what people do!
I'm gonna do it! I hope my parents don't assume that I'm dead or something...
That is so incredible! I want to join the group! That would be so hilarious to just randomly have 200 people stop.
That is BIZARRE. But rather cool, too!
Whoa! That is soo cool! I wish I was there!
I want to join! Except the bit about the pants. Hey, can I wear a skirt?
WICKED!!!!
oh yeah! they had the no pnats thing in dc also! right on the d train!
unrelated, but i've heard (especially from my dad) that blogs are dangerous. like that people can hack into it and get all your personal info, is this true?
i'm worried because i wanted to make one
i've heard that making a blog is dangerous.... especially from my dad.
like that a hacker can get into and get personal information.
i wanted to make one, but i've ben put off of doing this because i'm worried.
doese anybody know anything about this?
Wow! That was really funny and really cool! I want to join Improve Everywhere. Is it just in NY?
To jin ai, that would be really funny! I wish my teachers would do that!
Foofoo:
Well, it's kind of hard for people to get your personal information unless you put it up!
I don't see how this would be any more dangerous than having a website, or having a blogger account.
You have a blogger account-use it!
Haha, sorry about the really super long comment just now xD
If anyone is interested in acualy doing something like that, here is the website for it. People share their ideas for missions, and people who live in the same area can do them and stuff like that.
http://improveverywhere.ning.com/
this is really interesting.
note to self: don't use the word interesting so much....
wow that would be fun to do!
Hey, foofoo-
If someone bothers to hack into our blogs, we can all get kidnapped, (and then un-kidnap ourselves), together!
THAT'S AWESOME!!!!! I wanna do that! (Although me standing still for any period of time is highly unlikely...)
There's another thing where people film actors doing crazy things and post it on a website, and have the visitors vote on what the actors should do next.
My favorites are getting random strangers to pray/sing with them, and standing in front of an ATM machine and start shouting, "I WON!! I WON!!!"
if i lved in n.y.c. i would so joing
n"iccccce" (can't figure out HTML things for Italics)
thats really wicked :)
So in no-pants... do they wear undies?? Or go au naturale? 'Cause there's some things you just don't wanna see! O_o
I WON! I WON!
(The prize for most time spent not doing homework)
I would like to try that, though.
omg that would be SO fun! the guy on the cart was like "they won't move. I need some backup here." and then they leave and he's like "nevermind!" lol
thanks for the idea, international mastermind!
that would be really fun to do (i'm not talking about getting kiddnapped!)
< i > is italics, but without the spaces. :)
