A Note to Russian Readers

1. Have you ever seen a wild hamster?

2. Sorry about the video. I have a very good friend who speaks Russian, and I should have asked him to look at it before I posted.

3. Have you seen the Russian edition of The Empress's Tomb? I haven't seen the cover, and I can't find a pic online. If you can find a photo, please send it to kikistrike@gmail.com. I'm really curious to take a peek, since the Russian Kiki Strike had the best cover EVER!

A couple of times. As far as I could figure out, they are always this aggressive in the wild.

Ah, don't take this to heart.

This is how it looks. I'm afraid it won't meet your expectations. IMHO, it's nowhere near as good as the first cover.

P.S.:
Although these covers have often caught my eye in bookstores, I've never read Kiki Strike in Russian.

but about the russian swear words. . . .colorful language. i've always thought that was a somewhat odd description.

was it so colorful that the person was practically spewing rainbows?

I, personally, love the Russian cover! But, I also love the Japanese cover. That is one sweet cover! The Empress's Tomb Russian cover is truly amazing, though.
That hamster needs to be locked up! It's dangerous, but I suppose that danger really isn't a good reason, considering this website is written by the lady who wrote about a girl who loved danger.

He asks me about the third book from time to time, but I can't find out any information about it.

May I ask you when the third book is going to release?

Anonymous: Thanks so much! I'm so thrilled to hear that your son likes the books! The third book (The Darkness Dwellers) will be out in the US in January. I have a feeling it will be published in Russian (the other two books did well there), but I'm not sure when you'll be able to find it. When I hear, I'll post a comment on this post!

i actually discovered and started reading Kiki Strike in Russian) I have recently found it and am rereading it. It is very funny to discover how much you has influenced me...
And yes, I have met a wild hamster. Though does it count if he technically started off as " domesticated"? His wild and untamable nature has led him to bite my neighbor's kid and run off to live as a " Hamster: Wild" in Moscow' Botanical Gardens. Creepy little thing. Looks like a scruffy, obese rat.
As for the video- non taken.
The first book's cover looked better in my opinion. Though I do enjoy the crimson China Town theme of the second one)
Can't wait to see what the third book looks like...

Come to think of it, the crimson cover was American! Haha, the Russian one was blue.
