You Are All Delightfully Weird

I have never met a stranger group of people in my entire life! And, as far as I'm concerned, that's the highest compliment I could possibly pay you.

The pictures above and below are proof that the world's Irregulars (as I think of you) are the oddest, most creative people around. The top photo comes courtesy of long-time blog reader Hazel, who recently won the National Library Week cake-making contest at her local library. Her cake recreates the little room that Ananka finds at the bottom of a sinkhole in Kiki #1. I must say, making minature rats out of almonds is a brilliant idea! Congrats, Hazel!

The photo below was sent to me from the Chapel Hill branch of the Irregulars. (You know who you are!) It's a Kiki "shrine." From what I hear, if you spend fifteen minutes a day in front of the candle, you'll soon be granted magical kung-fu skills. Very weird--and AWESOME!

Thanks to everyone who sends me cool stuff. If there's anyone else who'd like a mention, please let me know! (I always try to get permission before I post anything on the blog.)

A Kiki Strike shrine...that is definitely new.

Hmmmm...now I am inspired to think up weird, Kiki Strike-ish things to do....

At this moment, I am defiently inspired to contribute to making some shrines. Now that I think about it, I'm also tempted to learn how to spell correctly. Oh, and lots not forget to storm manhatten, arresting criminals and tracking down murderers. Ah, what a cool life.

Those are AWESOME!!!

Great cake, Hazel!

I never thought of Kiki Strike themed crafts... now the monster is awakened!!!

I'm going to have some fun brainstorming!

(Does anyone here agree with me that the word 'fun' is way too boring for its definition and the spelling should be changed to 'phun'?
Just a weird quirk that I have...)

Ciao!

HAZEL! THAT IS SO CUTE! That gives me another way to imagine the room at the bottom of the sinkhole...
You are so creative! Congratulations, I can really see clearly why you won!
By the way, cake is my favourite food. Welcome to the cake club!

You know, you can get a picture of Kiki Strike and get it printed on a birthday cake, that would be awesomely delicious. My auntie printed a picture of my sister (for her birthday) on a mud cake, and it was mouthwateringly cute and scrumptious. (aaaaah mud cake)

My little sis made that shrine!( She also stole quite a bit of my stuff to make it). Now she's got me thinking.................A shoe box Shadow City? With vicious red ants instead of rats? Cassie aptly but. The beast HAS been awakened and "fun" should be spelled phun.

we should make little underground tunnels in a shoebox, or in a towel roll, put little mice and girls running, or cut a soda can in half and make a small new york, or make a kiki strike ipod player or even a kiki strike watch with all sorts of compartments for a knife, toothpick, a paper clip and more... ohh the ideas are flowing out!!!!

Awsome!

Only wasn't the room below the sinkhole like a little tavern? The cake is like the trapdoor under it. Except wider & not as deep. Love the rats!!!
